Featured Story
Let’s start with the history of one of the most controversial and polarizing figures in the entertainment industry, Jake Paul. From his humble beginnings as a social media influencer to his meteoric rise to fame and fortune, there is no denying that Jake Paul has made a significant impact on the world of entertainment.
Jake Paul was born on January 17, 1997, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised alongside his older brother, Logan Paul, who is also a prominent social media influencer and content creator. Jake started his career as a Viner, creating short comedic videos that quickly gained him a massive following on the platform. However, it wasn't until he joined YouTube in 2013 that his career took off.
In 2015, Jake moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career in entertainment full-time. He started creating more elaborate videos and collaborating with other social media influencers to expand his reach. His hard work paid off when he was offered a role on the Disney Channel series, "Bizaardvark," in 2016. Jake played the character of Dirk Mann, a teenage daredevil who created outrageous stunts for his online channel. The show was a massive success, and it helped to catapult Jake's career to new heights.
The Face of Boxing
With his roots in social media and promoting himself for years, he took over the boxing world with ease. In 2018, he fought British YouTuber KSI's younger brother, Deji, in a boxing match that he won. He then fought retired NBA player Nate Robinson and won, and then fought retired MMA fighter Ben Askren and won. Jake's fights have garnered massive attention and have helped to solidify his status as a polarizing figure in the world of entertainment.
What’s even more interesting is his knack for business. While Paul will make a few million off of his fights, he has the potential to make billions from his business ventures. In fact, he recently co-founded a betting platform and media company Betr, and believes this will be a unicorn itself.
A few of his business endeavors include:
Betr - Has already raised over $50 million dollars with big names like Travis Scott and Ezekiel Elliot.
PFL - Recently invested and signed a multi fight deal
Anti-Fund - Playing a role in the VC industry he has raised over $20M to invest in other companies and use his social media to promote them.
Given his beginnings and deep understanding of social media is why he’s the best boxing promoter right now, and arguably ever. However you look at his promotional capabilities, you have to respect the way he has capitalized on his business endeavors on the back of his social and boxing publicity.
Jake Paul's rise to fame and fortune is a testament to the power of social media and the entertainment industry. Despite his controversial behavior, he has managed to build a massive following and accumulate a significant amount of wealth. As he continues to pursue new ventures and projects, it will be interesting to see where his career takes him in the years to come.
